Trying to figure out compatibility of fish. 35 gallon tank and we have basically picked out a bunch of fish we think look interesting. I have done some research, but our last addition has made me a little nervous. We currently have a severum, blue acara, 1 gold 1 blue guroumi, a blood parrot, and a pleco. Recently added a demasoni and it has really upped the agression level. Is this fish a little too much to be in our tank? Do we have too many different types of fish? Thanks for any insight.

Lots of rocks/fake plants to define territories should ease some tension

Demasoni is a Mbuna cichlid, Severums get about 8 inches, blood parrots about 6 inches and Blue Acara about 4 but all are also cichlids.
Now, if you have room for a 75 gallon tank, I would add all the above to that tank and leave the others in the 29.
Welcome to AC. There are compatibility charts in Tank SetUp.

We don't call our little demasoni demons for nothing! You might want to really check out some compatibility charts because I don't think you would want to mix that bunch. Of the group you have I am only familiar with the demasoni, but they like hard water, rock structures all thru the tank and need to be fed veg based diet. If you try to mix them in with fish that require higher protein diets and they end up eating too much protein you may have health issues.
As Hobbs mentioned, some of the fish will get too big for that tank anyway, I would suggest getting rid of the ones that will get too big and then working on how to stock the tank.

Hobbs is correct. Your tank should contain rock-work and other decor arranged in such a way as to create many shelters, as well as visual barriers. The fish you have chosen are quite territorial, and while they pose little threat to fish of larger size, they can initially be quite aggressive towards other tank mates. To a large extent, out of sight is out of mind, so providing visual barriers will help minimize aggressive interactions. Fish are particularly fond of caves and overhangs, so provide one or two such areas for your fish. Even a large, empty giant clamshell, propped open as to permit access. This site can be “home base”, and will be defended vigorously. Always ask the shop owner about "Community Fish" and remember the more beautiful, the more deadly the fish can be in many cases.
Some fish are predators that specialize in ambush tactics when hunting. If one examines fish that use this technique, he will find it usually means one thing – speed! Moreover, it is their swiftness that brings home the bacon; their mouths are capable of accommodating surprisingly large prey items relative to their own size. This capability should not be underestimated. Aggressive fish are out and out predators, and anything 1/3 of their size or less is fair game.
Good luck and please feel comfortable to ask any questions. I am always happy to assist when possible.
