I bought the pleco 2 months ago at the local fish store they didn't know what kind it was and only had the one. It was cheap and i liked it. So i bought it. I had been unable to get a pic until now can you please help. The picture isn't the best but he is brown, with shiny gold specs on his head, short bristle like things from his front fins back, and stripes on its fins. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated. gibby

I was afraid of that but to be honest i had not seen him in so long i thought he was dead. So for now i feel lucky to get that picture. But will try for a better one.

They chew on wood all day and need wood for digestion... if you don't already have a piece now would be a good time for the little guy thumbs2: thumbs2:

Only the Panaque species of Pleco's need wood - their mouths are developed for it and they eat a lot of it for digestion. What other Pleco's needs are depends on their diet (veg/meaty foods or both) but all Pleco's do love to hide under wood.

All woods that are used in the Aquarium are fine...they are not fussy the Panaque's

theres are 2 pieces of drift wood in the tank but he only hides in a plastic cave it seems. it was plump so i assume he is doing ok but as i said before i thought he was dead because i had not seen it in so long.
