I just love going to check on my tank in the middle of the night... I switch on a small lamp (just so I can see) and all 4 of my cats and both plecos are cruisin' round everywhere. It's almost like watching a totally different aquarium!! No cichlids in sight yet still a ton of activity. My clown loaches are out during the day so they're all asleep, but it's a whole 'nother world when the lights go out!
I know a few of you use moon lights (and I want to install some), but my question is... do you guys/gals actually wake up during the night and check out your tanks?? or am I just a crazy insomniac?

Here's some of my "night-watchmen" that are out and about when the lights go out! First 2 pics are my pimelodella blochii, next is my big common pleco, pic #4 is my L191 olive royal pleco, last pic is my smaller pictus cat...

...next is the smaller pictus again, pic #2 here is my big fat pictus... I could not get a picture of my elusive raphael cat but he's part of the "night crew". They definitely don't appreciate me getting up close and using the flash at 5am.

I've got the moon lights and I usually end up doing like Demi...staying up watching them.

How big is the Pleco? He looks huge.

He's almost 14 inches and 10 years old (my common)! Olive Royal is 5 inches.

We also really enjoy staying up late to watch the night action. If it wasn't for that we would rarely see our Clown Knife and a couple of the others. We also are planning on installing the moonlights, I think they will make our night watching even more enjoyable.

I put red LED's in my 125 gal, so I can watch my Black Ghost Knife....he only comes out when the daytime lights are off. During the day, he stays completely hidden.

I really enjoy watching the tanks at night, and you're right, it's an entirely different world.
