Well, review time for lfs's!

The first one was pure CRAP.
Every single tank was cloudy with crap everywhere.
Its usually a good store with healthy fish, but they had mr. 16 year old punk boy workin over there.

The second store was good. There were a few to much neons dead in the neon tank, and a angel thats had finrot since like the start of january, but everything else was excellent.

Another weird thing, I actually found a handicapped fish.

It was a gold barb, and its upper lip was indented in severly, and the lower lip stuck out ALOT. It would be cool to have him, but my tanks not cycled yet. The poor fish didnt get that from fighting or anything, it was just natural

It was really weird. He could use braces or a retainer.

If my community tank was cycled, i'd buy him.
I dont want to throw him in my cichlid tank right now

Oh, a handicapped fish!! :malelovies:

I would TOTALLY adopt him!!!! I have such a soft spot for handicappers...you should get him cocoa!! Most likely, no one will purchase him because he's not perfect and he will still be there when your tank is ready. :19:

I would tell the lfs to keep an eye on him so that noone can buy them or they put him to sleep due to his handicape problem

His lip was probably biten off sometime in the past and never healed properly. Maybe too much was gone to repair itself.

When I go somewhere and their fish are kept poorly, I let them know in no uncertain terms I will not be buying fish from them until they have improved their conditions. If people would get on them more, maybe the store would step it up and keep them in better conditions if more people complained.

AMEN!

My petco fish section was recently overhauld BIGTIME by a former worker of the old LFS. He was disgusted about the condidtion oftheir tanks, and cleaned up thier mess. HE will be transfering all fo the workers who dont know diddly squat about fish other than, they swim, to othersections in the store. I was talking to him, and he said he needed some dedicated people that know their way around a fish tank to help him keep it immaculate, and then he told me if i put in an application, that i would get accepted before anyone else. Since wrestling season is over i have no more daily practices after school, so i can finnaly hold down a steady job doing something i love! Plus the employee discount will kick butt too!
