First it was the clams dieing. I just looked all over and it seems my big cleaner shrimp, the original occupant, is no longer with us. I guess shrimp just fade away or something. I noticed he wasn't around a couple days ago. At least to obvious view. As I still hadn't seen him I went looking.
I still have the two little ones. I'm watching one now try to get a piece of food from a polyp. He saw the polyp get it and he wants it!! lol

Yup...it sucks!

I have to get a new clean-up crew at some point soon...just about everything died during my tank's trials and tribulations...just one hermit left and a few snails...

well, the list goes on............ my sally light foot crab is dead also.

that makes both clams, my original cleaner shrimp and crab. Everything else seems to be doing fine.

I remembered posting in January that my clams were getting goofy. What a trip. I guess this is just the nature of things?

Did copper or something contaminate your water? It just seems odd that all inverts are dieing. How are your coral and fish doing?

they are doing just wonderful. It is truly baffling!

You don't have a mantis or pistol shrimp lurking in the dark that you just haven't noticed yet? Have you heard any clicking?

no clicking. I started listening for that the first time I heard of the mantis shrimp!! lol All my fish are fine too. The cleaner shrimp that died was my first ocupant too. He was already full grown when I got him so no telling how old he might have been. Aw hell, I have no clue. lol

I am guesing they shed like the cleaner shrimp in that what is left behind looks just like the crab? I assumed (yep, I did) that what I was looking at was his belly.
I just got a good look at the belly of the guy (who is quite alive and eating well) and it looked nothing, color wisw, like the "shell" I saw.
He is in fact being more public then ever.
It was just a couple weeks ago I took the water in to my LFS to get it checked and my parameters where prestine!
