I often buy things via mail order and I'm just amazed at the latest technology of shipment tracking. I have 4 separate mail orders being sent to me right now, and I think it's awesome how I can go online, enter a number, and know exactly where my shipment is and when it's going to arrive. I've only had a one or two things mailed via UPS so I don't remember how good their tracking is (although they're a major company, so how bad can it be?), but FedEx's is awesome. You know exactly what city your package is in, when it got to the airport, and when it was put on the truck that's delivering it to your door. Sometimes I check the tracking info just because it's fun to see what route your package is taking and where it's traveling around to (kinda like seeing all the stamps on a passport!). It's a far cry from the days of filling out a paper order form, writing out a check, and sending in your order via postal mail and wondering the entire 6-8 weeks that the order form said it took to process your order, whether your envelope ever even made it out of your local post office mailbox.
