hey guys and gals whats up... i'm adam, i'm new to this aquarium stuff and i just thought i should introduce myself and my aquarium and let ya'll know i might ask a stupid question or two but i will be sure to search the forums before i ask lol. i just started my aquarium and i love it. i have a 30 gal. with 2 bala sharks, a rubber nose pleco, and a black ghost knife... i know they are pretty big fish for that size aquarium but the people at the aquarium store assured me that the size tank i have will do me fine for a couple years till they got their full size. anyways thanks in advance to everyone that might answer my stupid questions lol and i really hope i can learn some new stuff from everyone here

they'll need a new tank in a year.. so I'd start saving now if you want to keep them. Welcome to the AC and enjoy browsing around!

Welcome aboard!

Unfortunatly those fish will not be okay in that tank for very long. You'll need a 55 gallon I would think in less than a year or you'll risk stunting their growth.

thanks for the input ya'll and if all goes well then i should be gettin a better paying job in about a month, so i might end up gettin rid of that one soon and gettin like a 75 gal so i can add a few more fish to it... some people have told me that the sharks and the bgkf will be ok together and others have said that they wont be ok... what does everyone here think?

Big welcome!!! WOW - We have similar situations on our hands! I also just bought a BGK for my 29g at the advice of the LFS owner :14: (along with some Angelicus loaches which I LOVE) . My BGK is currently about 2.5 - 3 inches long and I have been hearing about 2 years (average from a few sources) before I need to upgrade, but judging by the answers I'm seeing here maybe this shouold be done sooner. What are you feeding your knife?

Nope, didn't get the tube, we've got a big volcano in our tank they like to hide in. I'll see if I can get a pic of the BKG (Floyd McJagwatter) playing in the bubbles. I think we are probably feeding the same bloodworms, he likes them. I think Floyd missed the memo about being nocturnal though.

lol awesome. i tried the ghost tube thing and he didnt like it very much so i just took it out and returned it... i got a little hollow stump in in the middle of some fake plants and he spends most of the day in it or the cave i have in the back corner and the bala sharks i got today are pretty curious about him and i dont think he likes it haha
