How long?

I added 4 new fish to my 40 gal tank on Wednesday. How long after adding them could I see a min-cycle? I've been ammonia testing and nitrate/nitrite testing every day since the addition and there hasn't been a raise in anything at all. So..since there hasn't been an increase, is it ok for me to go ahead and add a few more fish?

is your tank cycled? have you been putting some ammonia in it before you added fish? if not, it could take a few days before you start to see ammonia build up which means your cycle is just starting. be careful with fish in it if it's not fully cycled.

Yes, it's been cycled for a couple of weeks now. I added the 4 new fish about a week after the tank had fully cycled.

you shouldn't see anything if they were smaller fish. i kept testing my tank after it cycled and put fish in it for a few days like you and i never saw anything at all. just add a couple of fish here and there and you should be fine.
