Their cage doesn't look very stimulating. They can't climb or anything. But I assume that's about to change:)

Mate you know I have a Rat phobia but I couldn't resist popping
in for a look, from what I can see at a distance through one
squinted eye they look like very nice Rats.
Great pics and best of luck with the project!

Thanks guys! Yea im sure they will be happy about it. Brookfish! Rats make great pets bud thumbs2: Just gotta get over the tails, and if they are male, the grapes.:hmm3grin2orange:

Yea Mj its not a super fun cage, i retired them from their 50long around 2 weeks ago, in preparation for the build. As always, they seem much more interested in getting their daily treats than what size cage they are in.. Im just gonna call it me feeding them too well. :D

Ive got a new method for keeping fruits and veggies fresh longer. Instead of trying to keep them cold in my fridge, im chopping them into slices when i buy them, premixing nuts/grains/seeds and adding the slices to the mix, and then freezing. This is working awesome!!!! I recommend it to anyone who has rodents and wants fresh veggies in the mix everyday, but doesnt want to give up half their fridge....or fish fridge...:hmm3grin2orange: The rats eat 1 cup each day, and as the fruits thaw, the juices get soaked up by the seeds and grains, so not only do the rats get more of the juice from the fruit, but theres almost no mess when they are done in the cup, or on my hands.thumbs2:

Only grapes I want to be searching for are the ones that come on the vine, :hmm3grin2orange:
I have to say though, the Rat in pic 3 does have a cute face ... Kinda!!

LOL oh trust me buddy, on the males you dont have to search!:hmm3grin2orange: They are quite large, proportionally, its like me or you having grapefruits:hmm3grin2orange: Luckily mine are both girls, ive had boys before though.

I'll shoot that video for you in a few minutes, i have some fresh banana sitting out so they are rearing to climb out of the cage
You'll get a better look at em, the faces and hands give them cuteness imo

I've had a total of 3 pet rats...and I've become quite allergic to them...so no more pet rats for me...

But, I think they're one of the best pets out there...clean, intelligent, easy-going, smart, snuggly...

Awww! So cute, I miss having rats... I had 23 of them growing up! One of them used to get out of her cage and sleep with me at night. I could take her outside and she would follow me around, she was awesome. I kind of feel bad feeding my snake rats, and that's part of why I feed frozen (otherwise my snake could get bitten and I would have 50 pet rats!) Someday I will have some again.
