Cherry Red/Crystal Red Shrimps

Last summer I aquired a tank with a breeding colony of shrimp. Some are more coloured than others and I am aware that male Cherry shrimp tend to be less colourful than the females, but I was wondering whether there was any real differences in cherry/crystal?

I know some come very bright red and are graded, but not sure of mine. None have white stripes across them, so not sure whether that is a clue as to exactly what they are. One or two are extremely large about 2" and expect they are some other kind.

I was wondering would different types interbreed?

There is a major difference in Cherry and Crystal shrimp, that being 1 is of the genus Cardina and the other is Neocardina. Cardina will breed with cardina, neocardina will breed with neocardina but there isn't any inbreeding between cardina and neocardina.

It looks to me that all of yours are RCS, I haven't seen a CRS without white bands on them, I've seen completely white CRS, but no just red ones. So I would say yours are most likely RCS. The first one is a shrimplet and all of my shrimplets were oddly colored for a while, some would have bands of red or stripes of red but no real white. Great pic though, I could never get a picture of any of my shrimplets!

Agreed, ive also never seen CRS that were 100% red. I would also assume they are RCS
