I notice there isn't a section for anyone between 10-15 years.....

So should I round up or down? :)

My son got me involved with fish. He asked me for a tank which I thought was going to be on a whim. So after he had asked for several months, I gave him permission to spend his birthday money on a tank. Well once he got it home I wanted him to put it in the lounge. He said firmly "NO", you have made me wait so long and I have arranged the bedroom around now to accommodate it. Well that was it, I went straight on ebay and got myself one:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

About 3 years though it's broken time, and some things have changed in 30 years so I still consider myself a beginner though folks around here are knocking some of the noob off...

It has been close to 20 for me!! I got my first 10 gallon tank when my daughter was 2 -- it was given to me!! Had that for many many years before moving up to a 45 gallon and then 55 gallon and now I have 4 running tanks of my own -- other half has 2 running tanks and I have 2 empty tanks and he has 1 empty tank.
It is a wonderful addiction, can be expensive tho!! But love it!!:19:

I got the bug about a year ago, when I thought, spur of the moment, I could get the boys a fish tank instead of a dog (I thought they would be cheaper than a dog.. HAA!)..

I got a 25g. with the standard starter kit (ie. cheap everything)..

The lfs employee had just enough knowledge to be dangerous, and I had a feeling I'd better do some research before buying any fish..

Good thing I did, and that I found this place..

Needless to say, every single item I bought went back, and I spent 5x what I'd spent on some decent stuff.. :)

Turns out I spent 8 months before I ever got any fish, but that's a story for another day.. LOL

Just a little over a year. I think it was Feb 9 last year that I bought my first tank, and it's taken me until now to figure which fish I really like. I pretty much just bought random ones that looked pretty up until now, but now I prefer bettas and killies.
