Well, went into Petsmart today because the closest one is 45 minutes away and I happened to be in the area. I had no intention of purchasing anything, but then I saw they had BN plecos on clearance (they are "discontinuing" them) and there was one tiny one left. I've never seen these for sale at any of the LFS's I frequent, or even seen one in person so I snatched him (her?) up. I've always liked plecos but haven't kept one in years, and even then I was keeping commons in my 15 high when I was 12 or 13... glad I know more about them now!
Anyhow, the new-comer is now settling into my (already fully stocked) 20g long tiger barb tank, I'm hoping this wasn't a bad idea! I'm not one to impulse buy, but I figured my nitrates are never over 10 when I change my water every week and my Eclipse hood is rated for 250gph. If it becomes a problem though, I have an aunt with a bigger tank and less fish that would love to have him. I figured he'd have a better chance at a good life if I grabbed him as opposed to someone else!
On a side note, I somehow managed to get 11 tiger barbs, I thought I only had 10!! I don't know what I did, I must have mis-counted when adding to the school... then again the "extra" barb is a green one, and my mother is very fond of the green ones... I wonder if she snuck one in there when I wasn't looking!
