Skimming question

I was wondering if it would be wise to increase my skimming now that we have added a BTA. As of now I pull a very dry skimate and I empty the collection cup every 2-3 days, but should I increase it to the wet side so I empty it every day or so? Would their be any benifit?

Wet skimming doesn't really remove any more skimmate than dry skimming per se.

All you are doing is increasing the amount of water in the skimmate which just means you are going to add more S/W to the tank more often

My skimmer isn't very good I don't think. I end up wiping most of my skimmate out of the neck - I can't seem to adjust it so it actually bubbles into the collection cup.

However, apparently it's 'good enough'. My water has decent parameters.

...speaking of which...I should test again...haven't for a bit...

Thanks unleashed. I've actually noticed a real decrease in the amount of skimmate I pull out over the last few weeks and I think it has everything to do with the large amount of macro I added to the fuge and nothing to do with the skimmer. I was getting a cup full every 3 days and now its down to a cup every 5-6 days:hmm3grin2orange:
