Hi there,
I have recently bought a new laptop computer which has vista as opposed to windows xp. I managed to upload some of my photos and videos to my new computer and now I wish to show my video, i find that because it is an MOV.file it will not play it. It will only open and play in picasa3.
I have had the same trouble trying to upload it to utube to try to show you guys - any tips more welcome.

Download quicktime to play them on your computer.
If you want to convert them you can search google for mov to avi and choose a program to use.

Thanks William,
I have just downloaded quicktime. (I think) I tried to upload to utube but it was taking an age and probably would have taken about 4 hours at the rate it was going. I tried this last week and just before it had completed it told me that it had failed. That took 5 hours to tell me that.
I will try again using the quicktime or failing that I will search google.
Thanks again.

Quicktime should allow you to view the movie but will not help with uload to youtube. [Only Registered Users Can See Links.] can help you covert it into something youtube like. One of many softwares. Other can be found by googling as described earlier.

I downloaded a converter but didn't realise that it was for a trial period. The video had the words 'trial period' appearing all over the place. So I deleted the converter and will try again with the quicktime.
Maybe, if I upload my video back onto a card on my camera, I might be able to save it in a different format on my new laptop?
Why is life so complicated??? I shall have a try anyway. It's a nice bit of video so I shall persever.
Thanks for your help and patience.
