View Full Version : Coral banded not looking so good

For two days now, my coral banded shrimp has not been as active as usual, and has been moving less/very slowly. Tonight, when I came in to check on the tank, I noticed his eyes looking whiter than usual, the biggest stripe on his body faded pink instead of red,(the other stripes are fine) and his body sort of curled up. I thought he was dead, but I then noticed that a few of his legs were picking at stuff in the sand.
The water paremeters are fine, but I have been slowly lowering the salinity over the last few days. Do you think the change in salinity is what disturbed him?
I'm going to do a water change tonight, and another one tomorrow. Do you think this should help?
Also, when I offered him food by hand, (flakes, he usually loves them) he reacted, and his front legs touched the food, but he didnt take the food like he usually does.
I turned the light off to see if that would help him.
What do you think is wrong? What can I do about it?

Thanks,
Tigerbarb

sounds like the salinity changes maybe caused it. i would maybe not do more water changes, could do more harm than good.

EDIT: Well, he's dead now.
For now, I think I'm just going to stick to fish, as inverts are just very sensetive animals.
