Today has been a big day! I've finally got fish in my tank! :19: Went to the LFS in search of some Loaches and another fish/fishes that may go well with them. I had planned on some Barbs or Tetra's but noticed a beautiful little black fish in with them, this little fish being a GBK, something I had done no research on yet. But I had explained my tank size and intent to keep loaches as the main inhabitants and the employee helping me said this would be a perfect fit so I purchased him and 3 little Chain Loaches (more to come). After coming home and doing my own research I have found that I need a tank at least double the size of my 29g to house him at his full size. Oops...:11: My question is this:
Right now he is about 3 inches long, how long do I have until he outgrows my current tank?

So, I think I can talk my Fiance into getting a 100g in the next 2 years. Will my BGK (Floyd) be happy in my 29g for that long, or will he outgrowmy tank by then? I only plan on putting 5-6 botia angelica loaches in with him during that time.

No, he will outgrow the 29 in a matter of a few months. I would guess that you could keep him in there for 5 months max, and even then he'd be pretty crowded. Do you have a tank that is a bit bigger than your 29? Like a 40? Or even a 30? Because if you do you could wait those five months then transfer him to that tank and he'll be happy there for a few more months, maybe long enough to the point where you could get the tank.
