My name's Derek, I'm 22 and live in Winnipeg, Canada. I just got my first aquarium, it doesn't even have fish in it yet! I'm looking forward to picking some up tomorrow. See you all in the forum!

I just filled it today so its not cycled yet. The guy at the fish store said that after a day or 2 I could add just a couple fish (and they have to be tough) so that they can survive the cycle. Its a 20 gallon and I'm going to make it freshwater community. I can't wait, I want to put a couple of african dwarf frogs in it!

Welcome to ac!!!!thumbs2: :19:

Please read up on the nitrogen cycle and fishless cycling before you decide to do anything, for the fishes' and your own sake.
Also, 99% of the time info from pet stores is incorrect, 100% of the time its not the whole truth or all of the info you actually need.

Yeah, I just read the article about cycling with fish and how hard it is on them :( Thanks for the advice about the fish store, he was probably just trying to get my money, and then get it again after the fish died.
