hey gang, i just purchased a pack of shrimp from my lfs. it came in individually sealed cubes. Question being, do i just toss em in the tank as i pull them out from the freezer?, orrrrrrrr, should i be letting them thaw out?.....
i threw 3 cubes in last night and noticed they couldnt nip at them. Eventually the pieces settled to the bottom and im only assuming they were eaten....

Let them thaw. if they remain in a cube after thawing (like tubifex worm cubes) you could press them against the glass under the water line about 3 inches so thefish can come and nibble on them.

I just soak my frozin food in hot water and tweezer out what i want, but in my 33g i throw in 3 cubes cause I have 8 cories and catfish that clean really well, but I know my krib in my smaller tank cant eat a whole cube
...and I just mix the frozen cube with a little tank water in a little glass I keep just for that purpose...once it's all thawed I feed it to them...that way I get to see if anything gets wasted, etc....
If you do it my way...watch out for cats...

there are many ways to feed frozen foods. it's really a matter of preference really. all the ways mentioned work fine

I prefer throwing in the whole frosen cube. It tends to be eaten a little cleaner. My fish pick at it as it thaws and it stays together better. Thawing is fine as well. like Jeff said... just preference.

the frozen brine shrimp I buy from petco comes in a frozen rectangular pattie. I just slice a piece off and thaw in a cup. I feed it using a plastic syringe, but without the needle.
