I'm trying to come up with a stocking plan for my 75 gal. My current thought is to get one Severum, a pair of Nicaraguans, and maybe 4-5 dithers. My LFS often sells young Sevs and Nics (about 2-3"), so I hope to pick up a single Sev and 4-5 Nics, selling the extras after a (fingers-crossed) pair forms. Any thoughts on this? And any ideas on dithers? I'd love to try Congo Tetras.

well i love your taste in fish, but im afraid a severum and that mant nicaraguans is going to be a bit much. Even if you just kept the pair of nicaraguans and the severum they all get to 8 inches in length right? I'm not sure you should have both in there. maybe the severum or the pair of nicaraguans and some other fish.

I would stick with either sevs or nics. You could maybe go with a severum and a firemouth or something a little less agressive. Dithers would have to be large and fast so to not get eaten. Giant Danios are great for that.

Many years ago I picked up 4 juvie Nic's and ended up with 2 spawning pairs that successfully shared a tank with a group of 3 red-tail botia's. I didn't keep the Nic's long enough for them to grow to maturity, but as young breeders they all got along very well with 2 large plastic tumblers for spawning caves (Nic's don't produce adhesive eggs.) Considering the community tank was a 20 long, I see no reason you should expect major difficulties with your proposed stocking in a 75.
