I just took these pics. I have a siberian blizzard blowing at the moment.
This is the main road over to the main town from my valley.

To tell the truth I am not bothered about it. For one thing it is about time we had a " proper " winter like we are supposed to have, and all those nasties that Europe send over here will die off too. Like the midges that give our farm animals blue tongue.:scry:

The snow in London made our morning radio news!
But when I look at your pictures...if I didn't know where it was taken, or that it was an unusual event...I'd be thinking...
...we look like that all winter long! :hmm3grin2orange:

The BBC news has just said that I am in for another heavy fall on Thursday. I just hope I can get to the LFS tomorrow. After that I am not worried. :ssmile:

We're in for a dump on Thurs. as well...it screwed up my plans to go out of town. Hubby is now going a day early, to beat the storm, and I'm staying here...in case the power goes. I worry about leaving my tanks during a storm. Trouble is, there won't be a darn thing I'll be able to do, anyway!

Sharon if you left and the storm hit and you were not there. You would never forgive yourself. You won't know how bad it is till it hits. It may even miss you. I am sure you wouldn't take that chance. I always have a back up generator here. You may not think you will ever need it. But it has saved me time and again.:ssmile:

Well we had four inches of snow to wake up to yesterday and it continued to snow all day long. It must have got to a depth of 8 inches by the end of the day and then the big freeze over night.
Today has been very bright and sunny and some of the snow is melting. Makes such a change to see the snow stay for a while. Children will remember these few days for many years.
Lets hope no one prangs their cars or breaks their bones - cos that is not nice.:scry:
Lovely photos by the way.

There has been no traffic up here for over 14 hours. The roads are way too steep for even the 4x4's to get up here. So peaceful It's been great. thumbs2:
Glad you're enjoying Day 2 of the Big Snow!
We have to get a generator too...and then remember to have gas on hand to run it with...

Fuel isn't a problem for me. Petrol station just up the road. :ssmile:
Now that's handy! Our local station is 10 miles away. The other option is to drive to the city...which is about 15 miles away...so not a huge issue...it's just remembering to get everything ready for emergencies...

I say just up the road but it is about 1/2 a mile. Could do with the excersize any way. 10 miles would be a long walk. But if it ment saving my fish I would do that too. :ssmile: I have 3 metal jerry cans stored away. Up here you never know :)

Good luck with the snow Celtic, although it sounds like you are pretty well prepared anyway!
Good luck to you too Sharon, I don't think I'd want to leave either, even if there was nothing you could do!!

I only got the genny because around christmas the lights in the village get too much for the sub station so I get black outs a lot. Has come in handy many times. The snow doesn't really cause the problems it does for the guys over the pond. But it still could cause problems. :)
