Question seem simple enough.

Is it ok to keep different breeds/mixes of discus in the same tank? Or do I have to buy all of the same kind(Turq Red, Emerald Green, etc)?

Well, first of all, there are only 2 species of Discus with a total of 5 sub-species. The color strains that you buy are simply the result of selective and cross breeding. They are completely compatible. Some report that those strains with Red as the dominant are more aggressive but I don't think it has ever been proven to be a result of their pedigree.

I know lots of folk that keep different strains of Discus togather
without a prob, but if you intend to breed them, then it's probably
best to stick with one strain in your tank.

It is fine unless you don't like different breeds of people being in the same group.
