:help:
We recently bought two red thai crabs male and female. They were great to watch but we have'nt seen them since yesterday!!

We have lifted up all logs etc but no sign....

I dont think its possible that they have escaped as we have a lid on our aquarium but where have they gone??

Surely they haven't been eaten??

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any help
Andrea

Are there any holes in the lid for equipment etc.

actually, i just noticed that there's a hole in the hood where the air line feeds into the tank!!

If they have used the airline to climb out where would be the best place to look for escapees??

probably behind your couch or somewhere closeby that they could get behind. I had one for a few months and it finally got out. Seen it running across the kitchen floor one day. I put him back into the tank and a few days later I never seen him again. And my lid is very secure with only one little spot of escape.

we have done a water cycle, and disturbed where the female was hiding (yay!!)

No sign of the male tho, we've been on ours hands and knees under the couch, tanks and tv etc...

Guess he's long gone now - Poor little guy!!

Crabs are chronic escape artists! So any hole in the lids etc will see them escape. Keep your eye out, you never know he might still be alive. But make sure you cover up all holes so the female doesnt' escape too.

I'm glad you have found your little 'man',

Ow the thought of him running loose around the house makes me feel uncomfortable. Lucky for him you've found him, It's probably saved his life. Tape them holes up,:ssmile:
