Anyone ever grown this or had any luck with it?

One in my 150 has 4 leaves reaching the top, pretty good I think (especially in a 28" tall tank).

Thanks! I just realised I put this in the bulbs section. Meant to put in rosette. Sorry mods (saying my hail marys hobbs :)

I keep seeing that their a foreground plant. Hmm, I was actually thinking of putting it in my ten gallon planted tank. Bad idea then?

Try it. The pads at the surface are neat, and the leaves that stay low are round and broad, a nice look.

I think people should be willing to try more plants. You never know what will work in your tank until it is in your tank. And since most plants are so cheap it is pretty affordable. Just try what you think looks good.

I wanted to get some but the one store here that carries them has snail infested tanks. The other place I see them is at the auction, but I always get outbid.

I like mine...planted in the foreground, and doing well...now that I know not to bury the bulb!!!

I like the little snails that come in on plants. They are much hardier, don't bother plants, help with algae, and are an interesting addition to the tank (like all the macroinvertebrates in a reef tank).

I love those! Didn't have much luck though. In my case I suspect my lights were inadequate...

If I remember correctly you can cut those surface pads, let them float and they'll grow bulbs and become new plants

I've tried growing these plants many times with no luck. The plants never seem to die they just kind of sit there with little leaves that are about an inch or so. Maybe there wasn't enough light but everything else did just fine.

Pretty plant though, very unique look, and they are getting hard to find. None of the shops around here carry them anymore and my online store/trade people don't seem to have them either.

Do aquatic banana plants have bananas on them? (I know - that's a completely ridiculous question - but I just looked up pictures, and they seem to have banana-like things at the bottom....?)

Their really quite smaller at the moment than I expected when I went to buy them. They get bigger though. A friend has one that is bigger. Excuse the tank it needs some maintenance. LOL
