View Full Version : Hello from Sunny Arizona!

Not a total novice I have a 100 gal freshwater tank with misc small fish after having raised Oscars who tore my other tank apart, I decided little fish are much earier on the decor. You are going to think I am nuts but we have been raising 10 Koi in our soft side hot tub for the last 3 years. No it has not been heated!! I just aquired a 200 Gal tank and just transfered the fish so I could finally see them face to face instead of looking down on them and to my suprise I have one female that is about to pop!! Does anyone know how long it takes the fry to hatch? I am trying to figure out how much time I have to move fish around. Thank you for any advise you may have.

Sorry I do not know anything about Koi so I can't help any. I am sure someone who knows what you'd like to know will be here soon to help you with your "Momma" Koi. Best of luck with your new fishie family..hope they all are just fine!

welcome to a.c, I love kois. I had three before they came to big for my tank, had to trade them in at my lfs. No one has bought them yet, i still go and visit them.

Three years in a hot tub? I know there is a joke there somewhere. I am happy you'll soon be able to see the Koi from the side. Good luck with the mommy fishy to be. Enjoy the Aquatic Community.
