Looks good. Going to have a skimmer or sump?

I was planning on just having a protein skimmer (deltec MCE600) ,live rock and live sand as filtration.

I have thought alot about getting some extra filtration such as a sump with a Refugium or a canister filter but than I though I am getting a quality skimmer that is rated for tanks twice my size so I was planing on the skimmer plus the LR,LS being enough filtration

cheers

I would add a sand dweller like one of the sand gobies, or get a "rock dweller" like a blenny.

A pistol shrimp with watchman goby pair would be amusing...it adds a lot of character to the tank...especially with the live sand...he'll be moving that around quite a bit.

That should be enough natural filtration for your 55g. Just make sure to put in enough quality live rock and have a good cleaner crew. Flow will be key to your tank. If the water does not cycle enough, the LR can't do it's job.

Make sure that you find a good source for the bicolour angelfish. Many of them are caught with drugs (not just cyanide) and will perish

If I was doing a new 55g SW tank, my cleaner crew would look like this...

15 Nassarius Snails
10 Nerite Snails
25 Blue Leg Hermits
1 Green Emerald Crab
1 Spotted Porcelain Crab
1 Warty Rock Anemone
