I thought I would share this with you:
As I went to feed my fish last night, I noticed that one of my key holes appeared to be sleeping (very still, loss of color) but it's sleeping position was nearly vertical with it's head pointed to the substrate and it wasn't even close to lights out. Normally when they are that quiet and "sleeping", they are horizontal and have usually made a little hollow in the sand. As I couldn't detect any movement at all, I thought, crap, the poor bugger's passed on.
As it was far back in the tank, I grabbed my plastic planting thingie to remove the "body". Well, can I tell you I got the shock of my life when the "dead" fish woke up and scared the heck of out of me and the rest of the fish in the tank. I have to say the air was blue with cursing, but that evaporated quickly when I realized the fish decided to take what was it's equivalent of a cat nap. Just when you think you have their behaviours figured out, they surprise you.
