I also say it's a female. Males usually have a 'spikey' dorsal with some black on it.

It does actually have a spikey dorsal fin with back on it that is another reason I am confused

It is a long fin variety which is why it has long spikey fins for a Ram of either sex... looking at the pics I agree with Turkey and Crispy that it is a female - a cute little lady at that as well... hope her tail heals up quick :11:

So do I, I only have her since sunday but she seems to be at ease in the tank, is there anything I can do to help her tail heal up?
I got another one of them that doesn't seem to be settling at all and I am considering bringin her back (think that is a female also) and swapping her for a dominant male, who will hopefully take to the surroundings better

looks to be a female. One problem though, when ever you get a blurry picture of them the blue sheen will look like it is going into their spot. Even on a male. I experience this while taking a picture of my male. If the picture is the least bit blurry, the sheen seems to look like it's inside the dot even though it's not. Did you read the sticky fishalicious wrote about sexing them?

I did read the sticky, several times, and the bleu sheen is in the black dot so I am going to assume everyone is right and she is a female, now back to the shop and find her a male:ssmile:
