While perusing through my lfs, i noticed one tank they had setup, just mysteriously(to me) bubbling from beneath the substrate. Now, i ask, did they have a wand under there, an air stone, or bubble wall?? ......I currently have a 6" air stone in my setup, but would love to achieve these "mysterious" bubbles. I think i looks alot nicer when you cant see the source. I just thought that it may put alot of stress on the air pump if the stone/wand was under the gravel.
Anyone?

yeah. it was probably a bubblewand or airstone places under the substrate. it's easy to do. just place the device under the substrate and hook it up to a pump. all set!

I do that. Its a airstone shaped as a flat disc like a cup coaster, and the bubbles just find their way. its cool

it can be achieved with ANY airstone/wand

I've also seen air lines that are flexible with several holes in them that is laid under the gravel in any pattern you chose. I thought it rather neat, too.
