Was just curious what every feeds there GT to bring out that beautiful colors they get. Mine have really nice colors on sides but there tail doesn't have the red, its more of a white color. Any suggestions if any. Right now they get occasional guppies and blood worms. And reg feeding is flakes.

flakes are too small and insignificant to sustain a green terror. get some quality pellets or freeze dried shrimp for these fish.

Outside of my LFS Ive not kept GTs, but in my LFS young cichlids wont sell until they start coloring up some. So I usually feed them a good base pellet(Hikari Gold)and then a couple times a week Ill give them a mixture of raw shrimp/a cheap fish such as tilapia or whitefish/ and chopped spinach...this is then soaked in a little bit of Seachem's Nourish. I swear we have to be one of the few LFS's with a small food processor.:14: You cant get quality like fresh raw food out of any can/bag of fish food. Plus youll spend about 6-8bucks for a ton of the stuff.

Not really purree...more like let it be chopped up into bite sized pieces and mixed together. Most fish really take to it after a couple of feedings, some fish go to it instantly tho. I usually do freeze it flat in ziploc bags and treat it like any other flatpack of frozen fish food.

has nothing to do with what your feeding it. you have a white saum green terror. his tails supposed to have that white lining.

[Only Registered Users Can See Links.] great website. towards the bottom of the page he has a few photos of white saums and mentions that they still arent common.

My male GT had the white fins and tail when I got him ( was about 4" I think, pics in the "got a cute gt" thread ) but a few days later he started getting orange and become completely orange. but I have heard some of the white ones won't change.

My bigger GT i got with red fins and slowly became white. And the other the LFS just got in so was stressed and colors were a lil faded. I was at the LFS sunday and they had a GT where the top fin was white and right after the top fin it was RED. .

Hikari complete,Hikari gold, shrimp pellets, frozen raw shrimp, frozen blood worms, frozen beef heart, and he also eats the spirulina discs I put in for the snails.
Here is a pic of mine,
