Turns out my sand was an argonite type, so that plus my dead bulbs may be to blame for my blue green algae.
Gave me a good excuse to get some black sand, I like it so much more. A pleco duty doesn't show up so much B I think it suites the oscars better and lastly my pleco is kind of hidden where ever he goes. So i'm sure he appreciate that.

((more pics below))
Water is still a bit cloudy from the one type of sand I put in. Other stuff didn't cloud up as much.

Took me about 5 hours to change it over. Kept changing the water while I did so my fishies didn't have to stand the poo and muddy water that I was stirring up for too long.

I like it, changed it around a bit too.

First few pics I thought were cool since I took them from over the water when the lid was off.

I like the black. It does make the tank very dark.
Is your background painted on?

I love the oscars, they're really beautiful fish. your cat is too funny, i wonder who would win, the cat or the oscars

Got 2 bags of black sand recently, gotta love the look of it in a tank. And that cat is just asking for trouble!

Very nice....I like the black!thumbs2: When I was researching Oscars, trying to decide whether I could handle one, I came across a post from a guy whose cat put her paw in the tank, and the O pulled her right in! He rescued the cat, unharmed, but Geez! Maybe your cat should be very careful!!!

A few more pics after I put the back ground up. Now its perfecto thumbs2:

Thanks for the comments. Waking up and looking at it was pleasent this morning, a job well done. Infact I went to bed so early last night lol

As for my kitty, I dont know... If the oscar could pull him in there I'd be tempted to get rid of them lol that'd be wayyy to intense for me to sleep comfortably with. My cats pretty big, until the oscars get bigger, I would be placing my money down on my cat winning the tugowar. lol
