Guppies

New to guppies, using for feeders for my cichlids. Have 29gal with whisper 30 which is a little small for tank but since only guppies figured be ok. Theres 12 m/f adults and bout 30-40 babies in tank. And also couple exotic plecos bout 1.5"to 2". The problem i am having is im using about 1 filter a week. Anybody have any idea for why it may be.

Rinse it more often to remove the debris, it helps it last longer. Buy quilt padding and cut it to fit the Whisper cartridge.

When you rinse out the filter pad make sure you rinse it in a bucket( or something similar) of tank water. Tap water will kill the bactiria you have on the pad causing your tank to re-cycle.
