Mith ask how the python worked and I was trying to find a video of someone using one. I seen this lady on youtube using a python so I clicked on it to check it out. She is talking about substrate on the floor while sucking water with her python. In the background you can see the kitchen and her sink is overflowing with fish tank water. She had a towel covering the faucet (which I do also) to keep it from splashing and I guess it fell off and clogged the sink. I'm glad I caught it though so that I can make sure it never happens to me. That could not have been fun to clean up! Just a friendly reminder to those who use the cover the sink with a towel to keep down on the splash to turn and look at the towel sometimes. I will from now on :)

Hehe that's funny. Something else to watch out for when I'm doing water changes I guess. Though I've never sucked up that much gravel/waste to cause it clog up. Oh I do like to use a screen on my drain in the sink. On the off chance I suck up a fish or shrimp, I can rescue them at the other end.

What happened was she had a towel covering the faucet. Which I also use. You know how it kind of sprays sometimes. And her towel fell off and clogged the sink.

Could happen to anyone, though in her case it got caught on tape. I have a deep sink doesn't really spash out of it.

Mine just kind of comes out of the head kind of harder when the shut off is on and just gets some water on the counter a bit. I'm guessing it's not just me since she does the same thing. :) No big deal but I just prefer to keep it contained. LOL

I can't believe the camera person didn't notice or they didn't hear it or something.

Or if the camera person was like me, they saw and didn't say anything. They were too busy keeping a straight face and not laughing!:hmm3grin2orange:

I'd have traded the whole video for the three seconds on her face when she finally saw what was going on in the background... LOLthumbs2:

That was hilarious but I had to turn the volume off!
I would have quit school if I had a teacher that talked like that.
What a rambler! She couldn't hear the water overflowing over her own voice!:hmm3grin2orange:

Yup. Doesn't work running the python into the garage disposal if it hasn't been turned on and is full of garbage, too. Ask Hobbs. Also, pieces of gravel in the garbage disposal will shut it down and get stuck in the blades, too. Ask Hobbs about that one too.

Yeah, there is a lot. Did you notice how many fish she has in there? Wow!! It's crowded!!! She definitely gives out some bad info. She does a 75 percent water change on that tank too.

Some of the comments are great. After hearing this person, I find myself wondering what one needs to do to qualify to be part of the "expert village"? :hmm3grin2orange:

From another of her videos:

"And while you're doing water changes you might walk back in to find your kitchen floor or your bathroom whichever you prefer to use, preferably the kitchen sink because it offers a little bit more water flow but in that area you might find a flooded floor if you don't make sure that your python head is attached to your sink properly."

Sage advice, but should add a note to be sure sink drain is open. :hmm3grin2orange:

Her other videos don't get any better. If that's the "expert" for Exper Village, then I'd say it's time for new villagers.

I check it out and you are dead on GB. This person really shouldnt be giving advice...and certainly not calling it "expert". There are way to many untruths and obvious tells to even begin to name them.

Did you see where she was testing for ammonia? She was doing it right by the opening of the tank and I kept thinking, move away from there! What if the vial tipped over into the fish tank. That would be great. And your supposed to hold the bottle upside down for accurate drops. Not good:hmm3grin2orange:

Too funny, I'm gonna have to watch all her videos so I too can become an expert! Gotta at least give her some credit for trying to help people out.
