I had a 100 gallon tank of malawi cichlids about 2 1/2 years ago.Turned out to be a disaster because I lost almost all my fish. The water company did some pipe work and flushed the system with some chemicals the day I did my water changes and I didn't know. I lost 18 out of 37 fish that day and the ones that did survive went to the LFS. It really upset me and I almost gave up the hobby.

Any way I am planning to start again with something from the lakes.

These are shots of some of the fish I had. Most of my Malawi were peacock ( Aulonocara species . )

Don't ask me to ID them as I just can't remember all of them. lol

This is the Malawi eel I had.

This one I can't remember.

Thanks Troy. :22:

I forgot to add one of my red empress. I had a group of 6 of them. One of my all time favorite malawi & I hope to have these again. This is only a young one. They were all just coming into adult colouring when I lost them. :scry:

Very nice looking fish. What a bummer about the water company. I'm sure you were really po'd!

Beautiful. Water companies should have to contact people prior to making big chances. What if you had a fish store with thousands of dollars worth of fish that were killed. Terrible!

I agree but they seem to be a law unto themselves. :smad:

Nice peacocks! I used to keep them a few years back, but my smaller females always got picked on.

Hi Celtic Fins,

Sorry to hear of all the trouble you had and I know that when things are not going right, fishkeeping can feel a very lonely place to be. Hopefully soon you will be up and running again and we can look forward to some more pictures of your super fish.
