So I noticed a speck on one of my cardinals the other day, and I suspected ick, so I quarantined him and applied meds. About 6 hours later, the speck had turned into a line at the base of his dorsal fin, and by the next morning, the line had turned into a pink slightly bulging mass that covered his entire back. By the time I saw him in this state, he was already going belly up, but I did some research and settled on lymphocyst, that incurable virus that basically enlarges cells. My question was, has anyone had experiences with this stuff? Am I misdiagnosing? It's tough to tell what is what with such small fish...
Behaviour-wise, he ate and acted fine until a certain point when he stopped eating and moving around all of the sudden.
Ammonia/nitrite/nitrates all fine at the time, but the cause was probably the stuff I stirred up as I was rearranging a few things, although it all cleared up pretty fast.
