I am thinking of getting a beta. I still have a tad bit of room in my 37 gallon tank, just not sure if it is feasible or not. I don't know, I feel sorry for all those beta's in fish bowls, and thought that if I could rescue one, and place it in my tank, it would be better.

I have also had a male and female beta in the tank at the same time, though long ago. Not sure what to do. Should I get just a male, and see how he does? What are your opinions on what type of beta? I see so many of them that are gorgeous. Any thoughts on what type of beta?

For a species list of my fish, please check my blog, at the bottom of my sig, to see my stocking. I don't want the beta to be stressed.

Thanks.

Sweet that you want to save a little glassed betta but I really believe you have hit your stocking max

2 Male long finned German Blue Rams
2 female German Blue Rams
2 Angelfish (small)
3 balloon mollies,
1 black kuhli loach
2 striped kuhli loach
3 pygmy cories
2 albino corys
4 otos
8 harlequin rasboras
2 female dwarf gourami's
1 male gourami
1 red tailed black shark,
10 cardinal tetras, and
4 ivory mystery snails.

Also gourami's and betta's are a big no no - both labyrinth fish that are territorial they would end up fighting non stop

I forgot to edit my blog. I have less fish in it than what is listed. Noted differences. No male gourami, as mine passed away to old age. Getting another one though. 6 cardinals instead of 10. And the mystery snails moved to my sons tank.

Didn't know that gouramis and betas don't get along. That's unfortunate.
