hey guys, long time no post
when i moved i had to lend my friend my aquarium, shortly after her car was stolen, and living in the city i couldn't exactly just carry my 10g on the subway to my new apartment, long story short my tank was stuck at her house for 7 months and i just got it back
she didn't take very good care of it. i don't think she did any water changes or maybe a few and rather just topped off the tank. i had a severe breakout of guppy grass which covered most of my tank.
my betta died and so did my shrimp and a danio.
i did a 90% WC in the process of moving the tank
and i just ran all the usual tests
everything is great except my ph
nitrate: 5
nitrite: 0
ammonia:0
ph: 7.2

my main problem here is that my tank water is cloudy, maybe an algae bloom? i am not sure any feedback would be great.

in my tank now is:
3 glowlight danios
1 cpd
2 goby (unknown species less then 1in full grown, not brackish)
and a half beak

Sounds like an algae bloom to me. Keep up with the water changes, make sure to vacuum the gravel really well. The stores sell stuff that makes the particles stick together and get filtered out more easily but I don't know how safe it is. And obviously you'd have to clean the filter out really often or it would plug up.

Are the gobies black and yellow striped? Bumblebee gobies are often sold as freshwater fish, which they are but in aquarium conditions they usually are healthier with slightly brackish water. The halfbeak can go either way depending on species.

Best of luck!

thanks! i can't vacuum the gravel to much my tank is heavily planted. i think i am going to adjust the amount of light they get each day, they get 11 now and i am going to cut back to 8 and do 50% WC every three days for a week and see if that helps. the gobys definitely are not bumble bee, but they are mostly tan with two slender black lines and a yellow dorsal fin. i posted a fish id as well. the half beak is a silver or wrestling half beak.
