It's -11C here, which is cold, as far as I'm concerned. Antartica makes us all look like "wusses":hmm3grin2orange: ...NG, I've been watching the news about the cold snap in your part if the country...it's not going to end until AT LEAST the weekend!

No outside travel permitted? Gez, like who would want to. Wonder where your dog goes to poop? Perhaps you have no dog!

I think it would have to be litter box trained! lol
If you let your dog out there its probably for the season.

Yesterday morning it was -50 with the wind..... today it has improved to -45 with the wind.
Wish I could go to the one of the poles.
Nothing but ice, water, and fields of snow everywhere, not to mention dark half the year with awesome light shows in the sky. Winds strong enough to blow you off laughing into the horizon, and penguins...
Sounds like an awesome adventure.

I have to disagree with you, sorry. The northernlights do sound like something exciting and interesting, but the darkness (for six months!!!) sounds horrible. I very much hate the winter up here because of the darkness. It makes me feel tired, sleepy at 5 pm, sad, nostalgic, and more susceptible to even small things... long live the light!!!

My mother-in-law was there for two days this week.. She said her Columbia jacket actually broke. It was so cold out that the coat froze stiff and broke.
We'd own more fish if we didn't have to spend so much $ heating our houses!!!

Good Lord...I didn't know jackets could break!!!:ssuprised:
I think I'd get in touch with the company...they wouldn't want that getting out...She'd probably get a replacement.
That is the craziest thing I've ever heard... So cold your coat breaks...
What could possibly suck more?

I've lived entirely nocturnal schedules for months even when daylight was available. I'd feel right at home.
We get the lights if you travel about 4-6 hours North of here, but they aren't all that impressive this far South.

About a month ago we actually saw a small dusting of snow, that turned into slush within about an hour. No matter where you went in town people were talking about how cold it was! I would kill to see the looks on some of your guys' faces if you were here and heard that. Most of you from Canada would have prolly called it a heat wave. Also when it gets to about 85 degrees around here everyone talks constantly about "this killer heat" some people just have no clue i guess.
Rather be too cold than too hot... You can always throw more layers on, but you can only take off so many...
Psh i tan in that wheater..

Y'all are going to love this one. The Chatham County, NC School System has announced a 2 hour delayed opening tomorrow for students. The reason is it's going to be too cold. Temps will be 10-15 F with 10 mph winds, resulting in a wind chill of around 0 degrees. I can remember spending entire days out on the slopes in worse conditions than this. People around here are such wussies!!!

-17F this morning without the wind. Coldest we've seen it on our new digital thermometer sign at work and almost colder then I've ever been in. Its not gonna get much warmer then 0 today, and there's a 10 mph wind. I was loving my remote car starter this morning, lol

A broken jacket?
I LOVE it!
Another excuse to SHOP!
That's amazing. I like cold weather, but not sure I'd like that very much. It is -1 with a wind chill of -17 this morning. They canceled school because of it, which I think is a little much.

School here does not ever get closed.
It was -33 this morning.Your skin freezes in less than 10mins.
Its too cold for salt to melt the ice.
I prefer intense heat over the cold.We have 5 different beaches here in town.
