Well, I finally got a camera and took some pics of the new guy, Aslan, that we got to replace Amarillo.

I noticed that he changes colors a lot. The camera does not do him justice, but they came out ok.

Like I said in an earlier post--He is blue and red on the fins and when the light catches him just right it looks purple. His head is yellow. But depending on the his mood--he can be either orange, or red, or a darker purple.

Azul likes him so much that I even got some good pics of him as well. He is usually camera shy. But I guess having a new friend made him feel extra good.

I hope you guys like him.

Oh, I almost forgot take a look at the pic with Aslan's tail flaring out. Can anyone tell me if he would be categorized as a veil-tail or is he something else? http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/fishpictures/data/764/thumbs/Aslan_flaring_out_tail.JPG (http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/fishpictures/showphoto.php?photo=10392)

The first pic, you can kind of see the purple. Like I said the camera did not do justice. I need a new one. LOL.

Looks good. What did you use to make that divider?

I bought the divider from PetSmart. They have different sizes that you can use and if they are too big you can cut it to the size you need. It has really come in handy. I think it was around $10.

Thats a very unusual Betta, i've never seen that tail type, looks almot
like a lyre tail, although I don't think you can get lyretail Bettas.
cool pics Gem, thanks for sharing!

You have some beautiful betas!:22:
Do the two males flare up all the time when they see each other or just when they are in the mood?

The guys flare out every time they see each other. It nice to watch them.
They seem to enjoy it.

Lyre-tail? I guess I should do some research; maybe I got lucky in finding him. His tail is what got me interested in him in the first place, then the coloring.

When I saw him I thought that his tail was torn, but then I noticed the smaller section was not colored like the rest; its transparent and the whole tail is intact. There is another section like that closer to the top but you can not see it as prominently as the other section in the picture.
