I want like to start this section thread.
Please review the last movie you saw and give it a rating 1-5 stars and why. Please don't argue over someones review just give it your own.:22:

Grand Tureno- 5-5 starts. It was one of my favorite movies and it is well worth seeing and watching. Would go and pay for it again. Very funny too. Classic Eastwood.

Last movie I saw (my sister was watching it in the living room, so I just watched it too) was Horton Hears a Who. Lol. Animated kids movie, but it was funny and had a good plot. Kinda short though. 4.5/5

I watched Princess Bride the other day but I won't count it because I've seen it before...

Recent movie I saw a couple weeks ago - Death Race... 3 stars, it was entertaining and I enjoyed it but you just can't be better than the original! No matter how low budget it may have been...

Burn After Reading - 1/5 - hard to follow, terrible & highly disappointing ending
Eagle Eye - 5/5 - great story line, very interesting
Bucket List 3/5 - not as funny as they made it out to be, nice story but not too interesting either
House Bunny 5/5 - hilarious movie, decent story, good moral in what the girls learn, my 7 yr old son even watched it with me.

not all recent, but here are some I've recently seen:

X-Files: I want to believe - 4/5 - good "monster of the week" storyline. Not as good as some of the episodes, but what can you do. People who have never seen x-files could appreciate it, along with some special nuggets here and there for die-hard fans like me.

Expelled: No intelligence allowed - 0/5 - I knew I wouldn't agree with the premise of this movie when I watched it, but I didn't expect it to be so poorly made. I don't agree with intelligent design being taught in science classrooms, yet I could have made a better pro-ID documentory. It just reeked of "misinformation" like quotes taken out of context, mocking of valid scientific theories, and flat out lies. The rebuttal website to this movie was very good though, thorough and well referenced.

The Squid and the Whale - 2.5/5 - Not much of a story-line (infact no storyline at all), yet not boring. The acting was very good and the characters were very raw and real. Would have gotten a much better mark had there been a story to it.

Mamma Mia - 1/5 - I have a soft place in my heart for musicals, so I had to give it a shot despite bad reviews. The reviews were right. The songs were very poorly incorporated into a story line and it seemed like all the actors/actresses agreed to do the movie just to get a free vacation in Greece.

I think that was the right actor.

As for AVP that was a great film. But don't bother watching AVPR, waste of time, you can't see what is happening.

Felon 4/5 Surprisingly good prison flick..

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button 3/5 Not as cloyingly manipulative as I thought it would be.. Not great, but not bad, either..

Zack and Miri Make a Porno 4/5 God help me, I love Kevin Smith movies (well, Mall Rats and Jay and Silent Bob Strke Back got annoying), and Seth Rogen..

Not for prudes and definitely not for kids!!!!!!!!!!!!

The last movie I saw a Babylon A.D. I would give it a 3.5/4. Wasn't that great. It was also late at night, and I didn't fully understand the whole plot. I liked Michelle Yeoh, just cause she's hot thumbs2:

Just saw Marley & Me today, 4 out of 5. I hate Owen Wilson, and I'm not a big Jennifer Aniston fan either, and I went in expecting to be dissapointed. Of course, the movie was not true to the book (the book was fantastic) but that's okay, I really enjoyed it and bawled my eyes out at the end (much like when I read the book, lol)

The Happening ... bloody awful ... nothing 'happened' and Warlberg did nothing to improve matters. So seeing as I didn't care if any of the main characters lived or died I'll give it 1/5 stars purely for the great acting by the grass, trees and wind !!

We should have started carrying over the names (and ratings) of the movies to the latest post as this thread is likely to get long and at least then you wouldn't have to trawl back through the previous posts to find a rating for a particular movie ... just a suggestion ... I'd do it but haven't got the time ...
