Now most hobbyist are getting into the 2 shorter light periods per day to help with algae growth. I have a 2.5G tank which Id like to incorporate a few easy plants into so I was wondering since its always had such problems with algae in the past how having 3 very short light cycles would do, or if anyone has tried it? It has a 13watt screw in CF bulb...the Coralife Colormax one to be specific. Playsand substrate...and well besides maybe a root tab I wasnt planning on fertilizing. I have my other 2 planted tanks on a light schedule of 2*5hr periods with a 3hr gap in the middle...which is working well for them with minimal to no algae. Ive had the same light schedule with this tank in the past and it had bad results with algae. So I was thinking of having 3*3hr on cycles each with a 2hr gap....any thoughts?
