jack dempsey tank mate

what fish are known to do well with a jack dempsey. I plan on having only one jack dempsey in the tank. I just need ideas of what they can live with so i know if that is definitely what i want to keep.

what size tank? if its a 125g or bigger oscars and other large cichlids are a possibility

dang. what kind of pretty fish can i do in that tank.........i like cichlids and similar fish........but will do community again if that is all i can do.

rams, kribs, and apistos are options, so are smaller tanganyikan cichlids

exodon are cool fish that can go in a 29..

what are exodon fish? i live in a rural area so most of what i can find are more common fish.

one of my lfs's always has these small african cichlids that are yellow with dark brown/black stripes running longways on them. any idea what they cold be?

i dont have any big tanks and i have no room to put one in anyway........plus don't have the money to set up another tank. my dad would kill me!
