This is my hydroscope 12 -- 12 gallon freshwater aquarium (originally was grey, but i painted the tank black)

Inhabitants:
2 Black Lyretail Mollys
1 White molly
1 Cherry Barb
1 Common Pleco
and 3-4 surviving baby black lyretail mollies.
10-15 Ghost Shrimp

2 Bacopa Plants
2 recently planted bulbs of apong.

This tank incorperates a 4 stage "up top" filter built in. (see pics)
--Mechanical Filtration via filter pads, Chem. filtration via activated carbon, Chem. filtration via Zeolite crystals, and Biological filtration via Bio-Balls.

I also have a DIY co2/oxygen injector in the tank for the plants.

Lighting is a 15 watt 50/50 (50%daylight, 50%actinic) = to 50 incandescent watts.

Usually don't like coloured gravel, but that red gravel looks really nice against the black tank. Nice setup.

Maybe a bushy plant of some sort, water wisteria or something. Something for the shrimp to forage on.

Im aware the pleco will grow out quickly. Pet store let me borrow him for a couple weeks for free as a "quick fix" to my algae problem. lol.

The hydroscope 12 is a great tank.. and it only costs 40 bucks for the whole thing! (besides the decor and fish of course)

SINCE LAST POSTS:

Had an ick outbreak in the tank. Lost my silver molly and my pleco.

Recently pruned my bacopa plants.. and have planted two apong. bulbs that are in the sprouting stage.. (TAKING FOREVER TO GROW!!!)

I also have some baby mollies that you can see in the pics in the red circles!

I have since eliminated my CO2 injector and come to the realization that a properly running tank does not need it. Fish produce CO2 during the day for the plants, and the plants give the fish Oxygen. During the night, i do run oxygen into the tank for the plants, though.
Also swapped my light bulb from the 50/50 to a 6400k.

EDIT!:::: WAS ALSO WONDERING IF SOMEBODY COULD SEX THESE TWO BLACK LYRETAIL MOLLIES FOR ME. THANKS!
not sure if the fry is offspring of these two fish, or my white mollie that died. But of the surviving fry,two of the babies seem black, and two seem too be silver/white.. so im not really sure whats going on.. lol.

Wow, that tank looks WAY better painted black! You didn't happen to buy it from a Building 19 store, did you? I saw these a few months back and, though it was a great deal, passed on 'em because it was just so ugly (looked like a computer case with clear sides) I didn't even think of painting it, it actually looks very cool :thumb:

Just by the picture it looks to me like the one on the left is a male and the molly on the right is a female.
Sorry to hear about your losses and congratulations on the fry!
