Hey all. I set up my new 10 gallon tank about 2 months ago. I have not had an aquarium for a long time and for the sake of argument I'm new to this. Currently I have 1 upside down catfish, 5 fan tailed guppies, 2 balloon mollies, and 4 neon tetras. Last week I added the neon's, a pleco and 2 albino cory's. Almost immediately my Nitrites skyrocketed. I lost the 2 cory's, pleco, and 1 molly. I have been diligently doing a 40% water change daily and checking the Nitrites since the Nitrites went up. I have also cut way back on feeding. The levels have not gone down really at all. Today I rinsed my filter (for the first time) and added some aquarium salt. Is there anything in particular I can do to bring the levels down? Thanks for any help! =)
