Last night, my friend Amarillo died.

I used a new water treatment and it seems that it did not agree with him. He was fine at first but then I noticed him swimming funny. He was hiding alot which is not like him--he was usually on the go all the time trying to get at his tank mate Azul.

I did a half-water change but it did not help in the end Amarillo could not get over the shock.

When I woke up--Amarillo was stiff at the bottom.

As for Azul, he was doing the same thing (hiding) too; but he is still holding on. Hopefully the water change helped him. Just could not get him to eat yet. Gave him blood worms and pellets as well and nothing. Will try again later.

Rest in Peace--Amarillo

Did you use dechlorinator? If you did, I would more suspect a change in water temps. They should not go into shock over dechlorinator but will over too much of a change in temps or not adding dechlorinator at all.

Thanks for all the comments.

I found out that the new treatment was not a declorinator after all. That was when I did a half water change and then added the declorinator. Amarillo just could not recover.
