Could African Cichlids be used as dither fish for my 2 JD's. I have an 80 Gal tank with lots of driftwood for hiding spots, and my JD's don't want to come out. I tried TB's but they did'nt fair all that well.

Don't use africans, use other south american cichlids. Maybe severums, red devils, salvini, etc. Alot depends on the size of your dempseys too.

yeah, thats more of a dither fish then other cichlids would be. As long as the dempseys can't swallow them. :)

Bleeding heart and black skirt tetras are different species.
