Just last week I went to the Georgia aquarium, and I took some pics. I thought I should share with you guys.

This is a Cownose Ray at the touch pool.

And here is one of the Whale Sharks: Alice. Sorry I couldn't get the head in.

I think that it is sad to keep that size of a shark in captivity.

They have 3 in a tank in China, right now they're babies, but they're going to keep them there their whole lives. They're in a tank that is almost 2 million gallons. The 4 in the GA Aquarium are better off than the 3 in China.

The size of that tank is enough to keep 6 whale sharks alive, and happy (says the guide). That's pretty big, cer. If you ever have the chance to take a trip to Georgia Northernguy, I would really recommend going to the aquarium, very big, and cool.

Did you know the Georgia Aquarium is the only one out of four aquariums to have a Manta Ray. Two being in Japan, and one in the bermudas. Pretty cool.

I'd like to say that is Mackerel, but maybe not.

Yeah, you should really go visit. And sometime in 2010, they'll open up a whole new dolphin exhibit, it's really big, bigger than the whale shark exhibit. So, be sure to check that out too.

Yeah, I know. Captivity is nothing compared to the actual ocean. But the good thing about it was that two of the whale sharks were rescued, heard it in a documentary. I think one was captured in a net, and one was in an amusment park (or maybe that was the beluga). Not trying to start up a disscussion, just stating a factoid :)

Thanks for that, I knew it wasn't mackerel, because they usually had pointier snouts, or maybe I thought those were tunas. But then again tunas are like five feet. You guys are going to have to forgive me, I can name almost all the freshwater fish, but Shea will have to help me with the marine fish.

Yeah! I know right Ellen, amazing how they can fit 5 feet worth of fish in a can, right!

All jokes aside, though, at first I was amazed tuna were that big. I saw a picture once of my friend going fishing in the pacific. I thought he caught a world record tuna... but turns out the majority of the tuna are that big. Bummer, right.

Georgia aquarium is pretty cool, I should post up the pics I took there. I wish I had gone by myself though, kept getting rushed by the people I went with. I think I could have spent the whole day there.
