i've been lurking for a few days, just checking the place out. about 6 months ago my brother gave me all of our aquarium gear from our childhood, because he doesn't use any of it anymore and got tired of storing it.. so, i decided to set up some of it up and get back into the hobby :) fish happen to be one of the few pets allowed in my apartment complex, as long as i keep the water quantity down to 40 gallons or so. so far, i have an old slate-bottom metaframe 10-gallon in my bedroom and a no-name 20 gallon set up in the living room. both are filtered old-school using air-driven lustar bottom filters, 2 filters per tank, with the air pump mounted in the back of the living room closet (keeps the humming noise under control pretty well) and seperate air lines run to both tanks. no fish yet, i'm trying a fishless cycle first.... both tanks have been going for a month, i'm tempted to put a betta in the 10-gallon sometime next week.
