I gave my daughter a 20 gallon tank two weeks ago and everything for an instant cycle plus a school of tetra's and the platies I had. (She also got the vac, fake plants, filter, heater, air pump, etc.)

I asked her yesterday how her fish were doing and all was fine. I then asked her if she had done a water change yet and here it comes........."what's a water change?"

What can I say? She is 42 years old, has a brother that had fish for years and sits here and watches me do massive water changes constantly.

I think as a Mother I failed somewhere.

LOL...it happens here too...they sometimes flabbergast me - I wonder if they actually grew up elsewhere...and just brought me their laundry...

You know...actually hubby is the worst offender...for example, our family physician up and left! So I had to go to the 'available doctor' list, track down doctors, find one I think we'd like, set up appointments. I've seen the new doctor, 2 of the kids have. I've talked all about this to him as it happened.

The other day he goes to the OLD office to book an appointment. They've never heard of the new doctor.

His explanation? "I thought she replaced the old one."

Why do I talk at all?

Gotta laugh!!!:hmm3grin2orange: If not, we'd cry!!! My daughter is good with her fish, but I swear she has no clue what to do in a kitchen. She was raised by a mother who cooked every day, baked, and focused on nutrition, even for the dog and guinea pig that we had then! Her idea of cooking is a frozen meal...

LOL I am glad that I learned how to cook and clean as a kid,
When I met my wife she couldn't even make coffee. She ordered a good meal on the phone though!:hmm3grin2orange:
I must say that I did teach her well though. She is a much better cook than I am now.:22:

There that should help keep me out of trouble now! I hope:11:

LOL My husband still can't understand why I change the water when it is not dirty. No matter how many million times I explain the nitrogen cycle to him. It is another one of those "why do I talk" things.

Snap, Snap and Snap again to all the previous comments. I asked my son to get the hoover out for me last year to which he replied where do we keep it. He is 20 years old. And the message to my girls - just find a guy and leave home lol I dont care if he can cook or not and seeing as they have no idea about how to handle money or run a home I don't even care if they marry the local shelf stacker, I'd say "let them get on with it and find out the hard way. thumbs2:

Kids would have a better chance if life came on XBOX as a game.:22:
My wife already told the kids they do not have to move out and that they can stay with us all their lives.:spam: :help:
I told them its ok as long as they gave me at least 150 bucks a week each for room and board.
They both said OK.I got one a job for the summer .lol It shocked him when I told him!
The other has to stay behind and take care of the yard and do my heavy lifting.I don't mind my boat is kinda heavy.
