We decided to get rid of the finches. They were too messy and we didn't enjoy them any more. Since we still like the guinea pigs so much we decided to expand that project. We tried to get one the other day at Petco, but the service was the worst I have gotten at any store ever (I was literally standing in the middle of the store yelling for someone to help us). We came back later and were about to get it when I saw mite eggs by its ears. When I tried to explain it to them they gave me the 'whatever you say "okay sir"' response and tried to tell me it was just dandruff. So today at Petsmart we found a nice black and white female (I wanted a black one with some other color). She is VERY tame and calm (and/or stressed). I love the black mark by her eye, like she is emo or something.

This is how the cages are setup now.

And this is our well-behaved dog checking out the new addition.

This is how good our dog is with the guinea pigs:
Our neighbors brought over their lab mix who decided to go into my room, get in the gpig cage, and terrorize them. Our dog didn't know what to do so he just stood their barking at him. The last time that dog came over (first time since then) he got on the stairs ahead of that dog, turned around and barked at him. When the other dog tried to come up stairs ours just stood their barking at him so he couldn't get up the stairs and get to the gpigs.
Tonight while I was making the cage my girlfriend told the dog to lay down and stay by the top of the stairs. She then came in the room with me (with the new gpig). Then I heard whimpers, what sounded like a dog doing an army crawl, whimpers, army crawl, etc. Finally he crawled far enough to get his head around the corner and see us. I can't believe how well he is with other animals, for the most part.

Wow, you've seen it all when you've seen an emo guinea pig, right? :19:
Very cool pig, too. I have one too, yep, Porkchops. He's very friendly and docile. Although makes a lot of noise when he wants something.

No, no more finches. I took them all in to work for sale. I may get a pair of diamond doves or a fancier type of finches, but nothing for a while.

She is just darling and your dog is pretty, too.
Cool guinea pig. I've gotten the same service at petco as well.

Great shots Fishguy!:22:
That lools like a great dog as well.Takes care of his little buddies.
I got my wife 2 more budgies and a new cage.I decided the warmest spot for them is in my livingroom.
My dog sure has an interest in them.He is still a pup but he is a hunting dog.
I just hope all this curiosity turns to a friendship and not lunch!
Start a new thread with the budgies. I'd love to see them.
