It's been ~22yrs. since we have had fish tanks, at that time I was really into it..
Last week I picked up a slightly used 72 gal. bow front, stand, Marineland Mag. 350 with dual bio-wheel's and a bunch of other stuff the seller threw in.
We are ready to get started again, I am cleaning all the equiptment and getting things ready.... I was going to do a cichlid only tank, but now I am having second thoughts about that and may do a community tank...I'm just not sure, and that is one of the reasons I joined this board......I have questions and hope I can also "add value" in the future....

Welcome~these are some great folks, I'm in a similar situation-couple decades since a tank and some things have changed since then, for the better.

Check out the free E-book to the left to get loads of answers, and these folks will help with the rest..I'm still in the learning phase myselfthumbs2:

Welcome to the site. Wow a 75g tank as a way to get back into the hobby, that's huge. That really opens up the possibilities of what you can put in.

To all,

Thanks for the warm welcome.... In looking around this board I am thinking of going with a Community Tank instead of a Cichlid tank. There are some "old fiends" I want in the tank and a Cichlid tank will linit that. We have always liked Clown Loaches and most of the loach family of fish, just fun to watch..But in the tank I will include some ram's to add color..

Thanks,

Jim

Gday Jim. Welcome to AC and back to the hobby.

72 gallons is a great size. Still maintainable and great choices of fish available for that size.

Best of luck.

Hi,
Nice choice of tank. 70 gallon tanks are great to start up in the hobby.
